Hot Feet!? My friend's 13 year old daughter always has really hot feet, they are red all the time because they are so hot and she has always had these hot feet. What does this signify? We know cold feet leans towards bad circulation but don't know about hot ones. |
| Reynaud's phenomenon causes red skin in the extremities AFTER blood supply returns to "normal." I don't know, I'd have to examine her feet during temperature changes......Have her ask a doctor though. Even if it doesn't bother her, it should be checked out. |
Hot feet?? i have a case of hot feet, i dont wear socks because it makes it hotter, i have tried alot of products (dr scholls) but still no help.. Does anyone have any suggestions on what will help. Thanks |
| try soaking ur feet in luck warm water but try it like 2 times a day see if that makes a difference. |
Hot feet?? So I usually bike ride with my dog in early afternoon, but California is now experiencing balmy 95-105 degree weather at that time. She really needs the exercise and I can't get that bike ride in at any other time.
But I'm worried about her feet. Is it better to run her on the sidewalk or the asphalt? How hot is too hot? How will I know? I have also run her on the sidewalk far to the side so it's grass, driveway, grass, driveway, etc. Is that sufficient? Are there doggy shoes and are those good for dogs - for fast trotting? (She's a German Shepherd.) TIA |
A good way to test it is to put your hand on the sidewalk/asphalt and see how long you can hold it there. Chances are, not very long--it heats up more than anything.
Grass/driveways probably will work--I know the grass wont bother her so much. If you can keep her on the grass as much as possible, you should be fine.
Doggy shoes are sold at local pet stores, usually, and are great for this kind of thing. If she'll wear them, I would look into those. |

Are there any guys soccer cleats designed to keep feet cool in hot climates? My daugter, who is in good health (so it's not a medical thing), complains of hot feet when playing soccer in the heat. Rather than watch her create a bacteria shoe-bath by repeatedly dumping water into her cleats at practice, I'd like to find her a lightweight cleat for the youth player that is designed to keep feet as cool as possible. Any suggestions? Brand names appreciated. |
it depends on her age. if she is a teenage, you might want to try Adidas f50 tunits. they make climacool shoes that are breathable. there are many different designs of these and are really comfortable. check out this website

Does anyone else get extremely hot feet at night? Wow, what a pain in the butt! My feet get so hot at night that I can't sleep without a fan blowing directly on them. As a guy, this happened only when I was ill or when it was really hot (summertime). Now it's every night. They don't burn or hurt, but the bottoms of my feet get bright red and they're so unbearably hot I can't stand it. Does this sound familiar to anyone? And if so, what do you do about it? I've asked my doctor, but he laughed it off and said my feet looked fine to him. I felt really stupid for asking and I haven't brought it up since. Also, the only thing I've found online is advice to scrub down my feet every night, buff them down with pumice, and moisturize them. Aside from making my feet more attractive, it hasn't helped at all;) At this point, I'm ready to do almost anything! |
| my sis has this problem and she had to go to a foot store and get different shoes and got new insoles in them so far its working |
Why do I have 'hot feet' during the night? I am in my mid 40's and am experiencing having extremely 'hot feet' during the night. I have to hang my feet out of the bed during the night, without them touching each other, while the rest of me is wound up like a mummy. My hot feet keep me awake if not out of the bed, chasing the cooler parts of the bed. I am looking forward to some suggestions. Thanks. |
I'm not a nurse and I don't play one on TV but I have the same problem so I came up with my own theory.
Cold air drops and heat rises and during the day I have very cold feet. At night however, I have to uncover my feet from beneath the blankets. I also happened to notice that at night, no matter how cold I am when I go to bed, I have to uncover my arms or I become very hot. If I uncover my entire body, I quickly go from hot to cold so my theory is...
Since our bodies like to stay at a set temperature (I believe it's 98.8 degrees F but I could be wrong), at night we are horizontal not upright. Therefore we don't need the heat going to our vital organs found in the mid-section where our heart, guyneys and pancreas is located quite as much as we do during the day when we are active and pumping more blood to these organs so our bodies are trying to warm those neglected extremities by distributing the heat where it is most needed. In other words, when the body is at rest and horizontal, the body sends heat to those areas where circulation has been neglected since there is not such a demand placed on the heart and other vital organs as there was during the day.
Okay, I know I know... I'm going to get slammed from the medical profession here but as I said - this is just my theory! |
Does anyone know what to do to relieve hot, painful feet at night, every night in bed? I have been told my hot feet problem at night could be related to my epilepsy. I have tried quinine water with limited success. |
| I have epilepsy as well and I have never heard of anything like this, did you hear this from a doctor? anyways when I do have feet that need cooling down which has happened to me before I usually grab a couple of those blue gel cold packs that have been in the freezer and them on my feet |
How can I relieve hot feet? I have hot burning feet, especially at night. I've tried everything to cool it, bucket of water, cooling pad that only last temporarily. I can't sleep at night and my doctor has no idea what's causing it. I've tried various orthopedic shoes. Is there anyone that knows how I can relieve this discomfort? |
| I have the exact similar problem and like you, I've tried everything. I discovered a cooling mat from feetcoolers.com site. It stays cool all night long. I have to have it icy cool so I put it in the refrigerator every morning and at night I take it out and wow, it really works! I get a good nights sleep. You should try it. |
