I'm a clinical hypnotherapist and have helped many patients overcome pee shyness. There's a simple technique I teach them which boasts significant success rates.

When you’re out in public and you notice that sudden urge to ‘go’, panic signals fire off in your head. This is the beginning of a certain psychological pattern that has been ‘programmed’ into your subconscious. The pattern communicates to your body that the environment is unsafe, therefore it physically won’t allow you to ‘go’.

The trick is: Interrupt the pattern.

Whether it's working out a complicated Maths sum, reciting the alphabet backwards or singing your favourite song to yourself; your goal is to interrupt your shy bladder pattern. Interrupt the pattern and it can't play in the same way. As a result, you're able to 'go'.

Next time you're in a public bathroom, try it! Trust me; it works.

know as beta blockers. I took them for a month & found

I just use the stall when I take a leak. I can use the urinal
but as soon as another guy comes in the bathroom my

Stop focusing on where you are and concentrate on what you need to do. Close your eyes and think of waterfalls, watering the garden, a big plunger in the top of your head pushing all the liquid down and out, whatever.

Or just wait until you are about to piss yourself before you go.

Are horses pee shy and can't go when people are around?
I have heard that horses will not piss except in a special spot, sometime only in the stall, sometime in a place outside but no other place. Also I have heard if any person is near by they won't go at all. Some horses hold their pee as long as 24 hours.

Race horses are often trained to pee on command. I don't think horses are the least bit shy about these things but they often want the right spot...for example a horse hates to pee on concrete because the urine splashes on their legs..so they do look for a soft spot..like shavings in a stall.

This worked for me, and cured my long time problem with shy bladder syndrome:
1st-accept that sometimes the shyness will re-occur for no reason at all, just accept that it can resurface now and then-- and you can always use a stall.
Here is how I did it: I forced myself to use the urinals when there was maybe another guy present, and would walk up, unzip, pull out and aim, then close my eyes and count silently to 20, with the goal of releasing the stream by 20. Usually once the stream flows, you should be OK to finish the job. Do this for a while, then gradually set a personal goal of releasing the stream at 15 or 10 counts. Eventually you will not even need to count or close your eyes. Not a big deal to close your eyes, have seen many guys who do this, as if meditating. Gets your mind off your neighbors next to you. Takes a while, but this does work. As to being with a friend and needing to pee, it is rough- but once you lose the shy bladder problem, that won't be a problem either. Good luck, as it is true that if you continually hold it in, you stretch out your bladder and can have probs later in life.

I'm pee-shy but I have to take a drug test. What do I do?
I need to take a drug test tomorrow. I heard that they have someone come with you into the restroom and wait outside of the stall but I am pee-shy and am afraid of being embarassed because I won't be able to pee. This will certainly be a small quiet restroom which is the worst for me. I can pee fine in a public restroom if it is busy and loud but not when it is quiet and there is only one other person in there...and he's listening to me.

Unless you have a parole officer looking directly at your d*** then there shouldn't be much to worry about. If you know the time of your testing, drink, drink, drink maybe half hour before. Then your bladder will be so full that you won't have a choice. In fact you'll probably be dancing at that time.

Try working your way up from easy situations to harder situations. For example, first use a stall in a restroom that hardly anyone uses. When you've gotten comfortable with that, use a stall in a somewhat busy restroom, and then a very busy restroom. Then move on to a urinal in a men's room that's practically always empty. And so forth.
